It's nice to be playing a show with the mighty J. Davis Trio again.  The Jordan Years are playing with J.D.T. this Friday (5/7/2010) at the DarkRoom.  I was feeling nostalgic and thinking about the many times I've seen JDT, and the cool shows that my different bands have played with them.  This post is a tribute to the longevity of J. Davis Trio and a little personal history about some shows my bands have played with them.

Here is a cool JDT video from 2007 on a show called Hot Wax TV. (Skip the minute-long intro and get right to the JDT tune.)

More JDT videos, and some stuff from Bumpus, Rachael Yamagata, Fly Williams and more...

The Jordan Years vinyl 7" 'test pressing' is in from the manufacturer and it sounds awesome.  I'm not sure if the 'digital camera audio' on this YouTube! video will do it justice, but enjoy the leak.  I think the official release date is going to be mid-December.  Will these 45's fit in a xmas stocking?  Maybe the label will provide a holiday wrapping service?  I'll ask...

Don't forget we have a show coming up! ;-) November 19th @ Lokal.

I was working on my computer and drinking coffee today when I decided to eat a fortune cookie.  Weird, I know...  But I wanted something sweet with my straight black coffee and it fit the bill.  I didn't even get a chance to look at the fortune (at first) since I was focused on a software task.  As I was throwing out recycling the wrapper and fortune, I decided at the last second to see what it said.  My expectations were low.

Interesting Fortune

So there you have it.  Kinda cool...

If you know something about one of these so-called "interesting musical opportunities", feel free to drop me a line.  ;-)  Actually, there are quite a few cool (and interesting?) things going on here, and over at TJY headquarters.  More below...

This video of Ed Lover's ongoing series "C'mon Son!" is pretty funny.  He covers entertainment/celebrity news in his own unique style with brutally honest commentary that is just hilarious.  He drops quite a few F-bombs, so be cautious.  Come On Son.  No...  C'mon Son!

Ed Lover skewers Kanye West, L'il Mama, Congressman Joe Wilson, the maker of "the Obama sneaker", and Chris Brown (aka, "the powder blue muslim").  Cameo by P. Diddy, and some clips of Jay-Z and Barack Obama.

The website MusicDealers.com has featured our main man Wes Restless as their 'Artist of the week'.  Toine makes Wes his pick and mostly focuses on his work with The Jordan Years.  In his post, Toine put videos for the two songs The Jordan Years will be releasing on vinyl very soon, "See the Light" and "Warm Me Up".

Check out Toine's video about the Wes Restless selection:

And Toine, make sure you credit The Jordan Years in your video next time.  Song should be credited to The Jordan Years featuring Wes Restless.
